At the early age of 14 he participates in his first film production, owed to his family film background.
After studying at the Faculty of Communication at the University of Lima, he won a scholarship to further his education in Cinematography at the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, where he graduates in 1996 as Director of photography and camera operator. Being teached by cinematographers such as Yann Le Mason and Pierre L’Homme.
He has worked as 1st. Assistant Camera and D.I.T. for several years and for many cinematographers like Vittorio Storaro and other alike, who have helped him to grow and develop a versitile cinematography style and technical skill.
In 2000 he is invited by the spanish cinematographer José Luis López-Linares to work in Carlos Saura’s “Buñuel and King Salomon’s table” as part of the camera crew. Few years later he would share a cinematography credit in Carlos Saura’s documentary “Symphony of Aragón”.
Since 2002 he lives in Madrid. He has spanish citizenship since 2008.
He currently works as freelance cinematographer in commercials, films, fiction and non-fictions projects.
